Writer: Carl Bessai
Starring: Ian McKellen, Deborah Kara Unger, Tygh Runyan, Frank Borgm, Theo Crane, Chris Martin, Nancy Sivak.

Synopsis:
Shot in a broad stylistic combination of cinema verité and magic realism, the film follows Emile, an aging professor living in England . When he accepts an honorary degree from University of Victoria , he seizes the opportunity to reconnect with his only living relative, his niece Nadia. Nadia has her own troubles. Her failed marriage and difficulties with her own daughter have some relationship to a childhood of loneliness and homelessness, something that Emile bears some responsibility for. As the story progresses and he tries to re-discover the family that he abandoned long ago, Emile's past becomes more real in his mind than the immediate world before his eyes. Now, in the twilight of his life, Emile shapes the final chapters of his mental autobiography. Will he become a grandfather, surrounded by the love and support of a family or will he retreat into his world of memories and lost opportunities?
