The Method Fest is the Actor's Film Festival, a festival of discovery, seeking breakout-acting performances of emerging stars and established actors in story-driven independent films.

AWARDS NIGHT AT OUR 2020 FEST

NEWS:

THE METHOD FEST INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES AWARDS-

Festival HIGHLIGHTED BY SPECIAL SCREENING OF Clint Eastwood’s Masterpiece, Unforgiven

SHERMAN OAKS, CA. AUGUST 30, 2020- The  Jury of the 14th The Method Fest Independent Film Festival, a unique event focused the art of acting and the craft of story-telling in Independent movies, announced today the Grand Jury selections of Award Winning Films and Actors for The Method Fest.

“This year the festival was postponed three times because of the coronavirus pandemic before we find a safe way, drive-in style, for people to attend the festival stated Festival Director Don Franken.

“This year’s films were highlighted by several films about women overcoming incredibly difficult life circumstances.
These women escaped from abusive domestic relationships, sex trafficking, from  confining traditional family structure, fleeing abuse,  setting off on life saving road trips often with no set destination,  against all odds, to find freedom and self identity.  “The female performances were the finest the festival has ever had,” stated Festival Director Don Franken.

“We had more quality films this year by women and people of color that really depicted their lives in an insightful way completely dismantling popular thoughts of what their life may be like.  Films about non-traditional family structures, and about surrogacy”  said Franken.

For the first time this year, the festival showcased the films as a Drive-In movie experience on the rooftop outdoor deck under the stars at Westfield Fashion Square in Sherman Oaks.  Media Partners include Variety and the Daily News.  Festival Supporters include:
Stella Artois, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Defiance Fuel, Rise Brewing Co.  A total of 27 Feature Films and 29 short films play at The Method Fest.
